Black Friday and Cyber Monday - a trend traditionally associated with America and the day after Thanksgiving- is now making it’s way to England and is causing quite the retail frenzy!
The sales bonanza weekend imported from the US has become big business in the UK, with store bosses predicting that sales rung up on Friday will be double those of last year. Online shoppers in Britain are predicted to spend £1.32 billion over the course of Black Friday to Cyber Monday, up 9% since 2013, according to research from the Centre for Retail Research and prepaid card provider Pockit.
Some of the high street’s biggest names, including John Lewis, Asda, Currys, Toys R Us and Argos, will launch thousands of deals. As well as many of our very own portfolio brands offering incredible online incentives from Missguided, Ciate, Modalu, Glamorous, The Pretty Dress Company, Foreverunique.co.uk and Lipsy. Amazon introduced Black Friday to Britain in 2010 and other retailers have since followed suit, including Marks & Spencers and Tesco, creating an epidemic which is effectively the ‘new’ Boxing Day sales Considering it coincides with the last payday before Christmas for many, Black Friday is the perfect opportunity to pick up incredible bargains ahead the festive period!
