Press Day: B Public Relations SS13
Earlier this week I was invited along to a press day at the Swarovski Lounge hosted by B Public Relations (formerly known as Boudoir PR). There were a whole host of brands to look at whilst we were invited to sip on champagne, eat cake pops and nibble at Indian treats, but there were a few that especially stood out to me.
My favourite collection in the whole room was from Finders Keepers, who I actually hadn’t heard of before. Their collection won me over as it felt such good quality and featured classic designs with modern twists. The collection was called ‘Lake House’ and was very nautical inspired, with cream and navy blocked dresses as well as digital landscape prints on trousers, shirts and blazers. Some of the clothing had little velvet touches, zips or cut out designs which made it a bit more premium and different to the standard nautical prints seen almost every Spring/Summer. Prices ranged from about £50-£100 – the sort of prices that you would expect to see in Topshop’s concession stands.
Another brand that I hadn’t come across before was Miss Patina, a vintage inspired label with some really gorgeous vintage style pieces. The items that really stood out were a stunning floral playsuit, a rose coloured A line skirt, mustard coloured pleated skirt, teal pleated midi dress with a crochet collar and baby blue 60s inspired dress. Again, prices started from around £50 upwards.
Lydia Bright’s collection was also there and featured vintage inspired flapper dresses/tops with embellishment, crochet collars and sequins, creating a glam Great Gatsby vibe perfect for the festive season.
I also had chance to see some of the upcoming drops heading to Missguided – there were some neon shirts with embellished colours as well as bright knits, which means that they will fit perfectly into next season’s colour popping trend too. There was a dusky pink kimono that would work for SS13’s pastel trend as well as make a stylish cover up over a party dress this winter. My favourite item had to be the studded cap though!
There were also some beauty brands there, including the much loved Ciate showcasing their Caviar manicure and Velvet manicure sets as well as Magnetic Lash which aims to recreate the falsh lash effect with fibre mascara.
