Elizabeth Galton returns with luxury e-tail site
15 April 2011 | By James Knowles
Former Links of London creative director Elizabeth Galton is set to return to the UK jewellery scene with the launch of her own luxury e-tail site on May 5.
Galton announced her departure from Links of London, after a two-and-a-half year tenure, in September last year to begin working on a new business venture. Retail Jeweller can now exclusively reveal that she is set to launch Elizabethgaltonstudio.com (EG Studio), a transactional website, which will showcase contemporary luxury jewellery, gifts and accessories, all selected by creative director Galton.
She has handpicked collections from 35 designers around the world for men and women. Speaking about the launch, she said: “EG Studio reflects my fundamental and ongoing commitment to bring unique, sophisticated and distinctive design to men and women around the globe. This is my little black book of a new generation of British Design and one-stop destination for innovative design.”
Elizabethgaltonstudio.com will launch on May 5, showcasing creative director Elizabeth Galtons picks of the best jewellery, gift and accessory designers
The website will offer a wide selection from designers, to gift items, bridal and bespoke pieces. Its silver pieces will range from £100 to £900, its fine jewellery from £900 to £35,000, luxury fashion jewellery from £50 to £400 and soft accessories from £40 to £150.
Galton said: “Having seen and worked with a wealth of London’s design talent during my time as creative director of Links of London, EG Studio was born out of a desire to champion such talent. Their designs speak for themselves and present you with the inside track on unique creations. They are the edit of the best that young Cool Britannia has to offer.”
The website will also highlight certain designers on a rotational basis with interviews, and include a regular blog by Galton on current fashion, jewellery and accessory trends and topics.
Elizabeth Galton will keep readers up to date with regular catwalk and trend reports
Brands set to be retailed on the site include scarves brand Duppoini, by founder Kate Llamas and creator of Alexander McQueen’s scull-scarf designer Polina Gineva, winner of the Catwalk Jewels of the Year award at the 2010 UK Jewellery Awards Jenny Manic Mercian’s Sahani brand, Claire English who was recently named as a Rising Star by Retail Jeweller magazine, bridal favourites St Erasmus, another of Retail Jeweller’s former Rising Star’s Tina Lilienthal with her pop-art inspired designs, men’s designer Tomasz Donocik, artist and prop-maker Jessica de Lotz, and favourite of celebrities including Ke$ha and Rihanna, Gisele Ganne.
The site will retail a range of contemporary jewellery designers, including one of Retail Jeweller’s former Rising Stars Tina Lilienthal with her pop-art inspired pieces
Prior to Links of London, Galton ran her own eponymous brand and was shortlisted for Designer of the Year at the UK Jewellery Awards for two consecutive years. She has consulted for Swarovski, Mercedes Benz, Liberty and Harvey Nichols.
Designers including Tomasz Donocik will be profiled on the new luxury e-tail site
